Breaking News:

1. Supreme Court Judge Upholds the Town of Dryden's Defense of Home Rule over Hydfracking! Click  here for the Ruling and also out the analysis of the ruling published in the New York TImes.

2. The Town of Torrey follows up its visit to Pennsylvania with passage of a Moratorium on Hydrofracking Hyudfrofacing.

3. The Town of Jerusalem passes a Ban on Hydfracking. (See also the report in The Chronicle Express)

4.Tioga land owners challenge "force majeure" claims in court.

5, Texas Economist Deborah Rogers to speak in Penn Yan on the "Economics of Hydrofracking". Click here to see her presentation in Syracuse.

6. On FEb. 15th The Friends of Barrington held a meeting for leasholders and  to follow up, now launches an "Information Line for Leaseholders". The telephone line will provide a link between concerned leaseholders and information and legal counsel regarding the expiration, renegotiation, or" force majeure" extensions of their leases. Posters advertising the Service are being posted in strategic area locations. For Poster sample click here.

Following the successful rmeeting several leaseholders are already receiving help from Attorney Rachel Treichler.

7. Pennsylvania Landowners fight eminent domain for a proposed pipeline.

8. Now available: the terms of the settlements between the State of New York Attorney General and Fortuna regarding landman practices and force majeure claims. Lawsuits against  Chesapeake on the force majeure issue are  currently tied up in arbitration.
